LATENT NAVAL VICTORY

The following is in part the official report of the latest naval
victory, that of Manzanillo, Cuba:

At 7:30 o'clock on the morning of
July 15, fire was opened on the
shipping and after a deliberate fire
lasting about two hours and a half
three Spanish transports, El Cocina, Deseada, Cuernavaca and La Parisina
and Conocimiento, were burned and
destroyed. The pontoon which
was the hospital ship and store
ship, probably for ammunition,
was burned and blown up. Three
gunboats were destroyed. One
other was driven ashore and sunk
and a third was driven ashore and
is believed to have been disabled.
No casualties occurred on
board any of our vessels.
