Full Text
Did not the Journal put the election last Spring upon the ground of administration and anti-administration--did they not tell the people if they voted for James Fenner and the ticket of Senators, headed by Nathan Brown, that they would declare themselves in favor of the "profligate administration of Jackson"-- and did not the people, maugre the terrible denunciations of the Journal, elect the said James Fenner for their Governor, by above a thousand majority, together with the gentlemen named in the ticket with him? These things are all true-and "the editor knows better" than to deny a single word of what we have stated. But if this valiant editor is not satisfied, and will patiently wait until the next spring, he shall have another trial of his strength, when if we don't beat him to his heart's content, we will give up all pretensions to a knowledge of the political character of this state.

Event Details
A Jackson paper claims Rhode-Island has joined Jackson's cause post-Presidential election, but the editor knows better. The Journal had framed the prior spring election as administration vs. anti-administration, warning votes for Fenner and Brown-led ticket would support Jackson's administration, yet they won by majority. The response challenges the editor to wait for next spring's election.
