The Midland affiliated cooperative associations in southern and southeastern Wisconsin held their annual picnic at Rock Lake, Lake Mills, Wisconsin, on June 27. Three hundred and fifty people were registered. A hand vacuum cleaner was given as grand prize, and a number of cash prizes ranging from one dollar to three dollars were given to the winners of recreational contests.
Motion pictures were taken of the group and many of the contests. The pictures were taken by a West Allis cooperator and will become a part of the film which this association is recording of the development of their Co-op. This film will be shown at their next annual meeting. Thereafter the film will be available to other associations for the cost of transportation and necessary repair costs to the film.
The picnic was considered a great success. Those in charge feel that a bigger and better picnic is in store for next year. The committee will attempt to name one member from each association in the 10th district to work out plans for the 1938 event.
