BIG DIAMOND SWINDLE WORKED IN BALTIMORE

Baltimore, July 7.--One of the largest diamond swindles here in recent years came to light tonight with the arrest of Louis Kappalman, accused or stealing gems valued at $6,0oo from a local jewelry company. It is understood that in the 15 months the alleged thefts have been going on about $50,000 in jewelry has been taken. Kappalman was one of the most trusted employes of the firm that suffered the loss. Most of the jewelry is said to have been pawned in New York.
