Full Text
I have torn from the National Intelligencer an article copied from the Charleston Courier, and send it to you in the hope that you will agree with me that it is worthy to be published conspicuously in the Enquirer, on account of the fine taste and sprightly wit which it exhibits: It is one of the happiest trifles I ever saw.
The note of the National Intelligencer may be published too—because it is good sense in itself, though very probably he mistakes the Charleston writer's sentiment.—I send you a note which if you please you may subjoin to Mr. Gales's note.
Don't believe that I wish this republication for any serious purpose whatever—but only for the fun of the thing.
