For the MASSACHUSETTS SPY.
Mr. Thomas,
You are requested to give the following a place in your paper, viz.

S it may be questioned by some persons whether or not the subscriber has in fact resigned his seat at the council board, he not having as yet made any public declaration thereof.--In order therefore to give the public the fullest satisfaction respecting this affair, he hereby declares that such resignation was by him made on Monday the 29th of August last, that he has not since attended at council and that he is determined not to give any further attendance.
