Mme. Curie Asks Hoover What to Do With $8,000 Gift

WASHINGTON

Secretary of Commerce Hoover has been appealed to by Mme. Curie, French woman scientist and co-discoverer of radium, for advice as to how she should dispose of $8,000 which has been sent to her by Americans as contributions to the radium gift fund which was raised in this country on the occasion of Mme. Curie's visit to the United States.

The contributors seemed not to be aware that the gift had already been purchased, presented, and the fund closed.

Secretary Hoover was at a loss yesterday what to advise Mme. Curie.
