MANNINGTON.
MANNINGTON, W. VA. January 9.—Mrs. J. B. Knotts, who has been visiting relatives in Rivesville for several weeks, returned home Wednesday.
Miss Lydia Beatty left Thursday morning to attend school at Oberlin, O.
Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Prichard entertained a limited number of their many friends Wednesday evening. Progressive euchre was indulged in until 11:30 when a dainty lunch was served.
D. L. Rathbone was in Fairmont Wednesday and Thursday.
E. C. Martin and Ed. Hamilton were business visitors in Sistersville a few days this week.
Thos. F. Barrett, who has been confined to his room for several days, threatened with pneumonia, is able to attend to business.
Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Slator and children, after a pleasant visit with friends in Clarksburg, Pa., returned home the first of the week.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Mahan entertained a few friends Monday evening.
Mrs. Ed. Booth and little daughter, Mildred, who have been spending the holidays with friends in Pittsburg, returned home Wednesday evening.
Bruce Holland who was assisting in Kellar's & Jolliffe's store during the holidays, returned to his home in Grantsville Tuesday.
Miss Lucy Hankins, of Fairmont, is the guest of friends in town.
Miss Daisy Koen has returned to school at Philadelphia after a short holiday vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. N. Koen.
Capt. W. B. Sine was a business visitor in Wheeling a few days this week.
Mrs. A. H. Stanley returned home to Parkersburg Thursday.
Attorney Aug. M. Campbell was at Parkersburg on legal business Tuesday.
J. J. Alkire returned the first of the week from Cincinnati.
S. Barkwell spent part of last week and the first of this week in Wood county.
Attorney J. F. Harron was at Sistersville on business Tuesday.
Dr. Jos. Watson will open a drug store in the near future.
Rev. Harvey Cofer was calling on his friends in town Monday.
Rev. A. S. Blagg, of Buckhannon, of the U. B. Church, has been assisting Rev. J. W. Hollen in holding a series of meetings in the M. P. Church.
E. J. Morgan, of Sandyville, Roane county, spent last week visiting friends here.
W. D. McFarland and wife, of Roane county, spent the holidays with friends and relatives in this neighborhood.
