For the Southern Christian Advocate.

A REQUEST.

The undersigned has in course of preparation a narrative of The Great Revival which pervaded the Southern Armies during the late war. Desiring to make it as complete as possible, he earnestly solicits the aid of ministers and laymen of the different denominations who witnessed and participated in the Revival. Information under any of the following heads will be most gratefully received.

I. Beginning, progress and incidents of the Revival in the Regiment, Brigade, Division, Corps, Army, Fort, or Hospital, with which the writer was connected.

2. Notices of pious soldiers, officers and privates, living or dead, who were prominent in promoting the cause of religion.

3. The formation of Camp Churches, Christian Associations, Sunday Schools and Bible Classes, with some account of their operations and results.

4. Scenes in Hospitals and on Battle Fields, illustrative of the power of faith.

5. Recollections of the prison life of Southern soldiers, with special reference to the religious interest which prevailed among them in prison.

He would also be thankful for the use of any printed matter that would assist him in his work; and if desired, all such matter will be carefully returned to the persons furnishing it. It is earnestly requested that all who can lend a helping hand, will do so with as little delay as possible.
