A letter from Madrid, dated July 21, says,

"All the week the people in Madrid have been half mad on account of the Fiesta Real. The Bull Feats were so thronged, that in the Plaza Mayor fifty dollars were paid for seats in the first row, and sixteen in the third; there were at one time about 30,000 spectators present; of course, the amphitheatre was excessively crowded. Among other persons of distinction, at Madrid, is the celebrated Major Semple, otherwise Col. Lisle, who states that he is travelling by order of the English government."
