Full Text

We are informed that the island of Corsica abounds in harbours, not only capable of receiving a fifty gun ship, but even the whole navy of England: not to mention the numerous bays, gulfs, and inlets, on every side, as may be seen by inspecting the map of that island; many of which, at little expense, may be converted into the finest ports in the Mediterranean. This is so well known to the French Ministry that we are assured they have appointed proper engineers to accompany the troops from Marseilles and Toulon to fortify them.
