BY W. H. BLOUNT. OF "WILSON MIRROR."

When sadness comes, I turn to thee, my
wife,
Angel of my pathway, and comfort of
my life
For thou canst bide all the thorns of
care,
And weave radiant tears with the cypress of despair.
Thou canst give to trials sure and
sweet surcease,
And hush all raging storms in the calm
of blessed peace,
Thou canst ease the throbbings of my
brain,
And soothe the sting of every earthly
pain.
Thou canst all my doubts and fears de-
stroy,
And arch across my cloudy sky the rosy
tints of joy.
Thou canst make the darkest shadows
start,
And fill with golden sunshine the cham-
bers of my heart.
Thou canst change December's wintry
weather,
Into genial May,
when we are near
together;
Thou canst sprinkle life, with April's
fragrant showers
And make the passing cloudlets a nurse-
ry for her flowers.
Thou canst make of earth a sweet and
blessed Eden,
Thou canst give to me a precious glimpse
of Heaven,
Thou canst give to life a type of bliss
above
And to every thought a photograph of
love
