Full Text

We hear from Exeter that last Thursday night the House of Mr. John Bond, of that Town, was struck by Lightning, and Mrs. Bond, who was walking the Room, instantaneously killed. The Lightning ran down a Stud, against which hung a Looking Glass, and there being a Breach in the Plastering behind, it is supposed the Lightning was attracted in its Passage by the Quick silver on the Glass, by which Means the Glass was broke into very small Pieces, though the Frame was left standing unhurt; and Mrs. Bond being that Instant opposite the Glass, the Lightning struck her on the Temple, passed down her Body without fracturing the skin, burst open her Shoe, and went off. There was another Woman, and several Children, in the same Room, who received no Hurt.
