Paris, July 1. On the 20th of last Month there was a great storm of hail, rain and thunder, in the province of Lionnois. The rain fell during an hour, in such abundance, that several houses were overthrown, and the cattle and goods carried away to port Chara and Tartare, six or even leagues from Lyons; twelve persons were drowned, and the bridge at Tartare was destroyed. The vines, the hemp, the corn, and many of the trees in the neighbourhood, are absolutely lost. The river of Azergue, which is naturally rapid, was so increased, that it carried away forty toises of the main road and destroyed several houses. Nine persons were drowned in that canton.
