Full Text
It appears by the several returns from the country as respects the choice of a Register of Deeds, on Mr. GARDNER GOOLD had 554 votes, and tho not the highest on the list, yet, from other circumstances, he is the most invited to consider himself a candidate for the next Election. Three or four only, are said disposed to be considered candidates at this time; and it is recommended to the several towns in the county, that they unite in giving their suffrages in support of Mr. Goold; thus they may be at once, rid of a pending difficulty, and inconvenience.—If his eligibility, penmanship, as well as having a thorough knowledge of the duties of the office, are necessary qualifications, surely these, with his situation in Life. will entitle him to meet the consideration of his fellow citizens, and be the man of our choice.
