EX-CASHIER SATTLEY.
Will Fight His Case to a Finish—Says He is a Victim of Populism.

CHICAGO, Dec. 5.—Elmer E. Sattley, ex-cashier of the Kansas City Safety Deposit and Savings bank, convicted of receiving money when he knew the bank was insolvent, will go back to Kansas City in the custody of officers.

Mr. Sattley emphatically denies that he is guilty of this or any other crime, and says that he will go back and fight the case through to the United States supreme court. He says: "I am simply the victim of a populist jury. Personally I am a republican. There are certain antagonisms behind this affair which I do not care to discuss. This is a sequel to the political enmity of a certain people whom I do not care to name, who are primarily responsible for securing my indictment."
