ONE DAY LATER FROM ENGLAND.
The British brig Mary, Capt. Townsend, in 29 days from land to land—having left the Downs on the 10th and the land on the 14th of June—arrived at this port this forenoon. A passenger informs, that on the eve of his departure, he conversed with a gentleman who had just arrived from St. Helena, who stated, that the life of Bonaparte was despaired of, and that a British East Indiaman was detained four days, for the purpose of bringing the account of his death.
