Full Text
The Norfolk Herald copies the statement relating to the decrease of population in that city, and says: "So far as regards the city of Norfolk, we can assert from our own observations and that of others better able than ourselves to decide, that it is outrageously erroneous. The number of deaths is at least 700 above the mark; and so far from there being 6,000 absentees who have not yet returned, there is not one missed, that we know or have heard of, in all that vast crowd which fled before the pestilence--save only those who died abroad."
