PHILADELPHIA, December 23:

Extract of a Letter from Gundelbach, in the Duchy of Wurtemberg, dated May 10.

"THROUGH the Sterility of the Crops, which has continued for several Years, and the advanced Price of Grain, which is almost intolerable, it appears very dismal about us; nay, what is still worse, it is not to be bought with Money, so that many Masters of Families, with their Wives and Children, oftentimes are without a Morsel of Bread to eat for one, two, and even three Weeks; and lastly, it is to be feared that it may be yet worse. People who have hitherto had well to live appear to be now totally reduced."
