Burned By Gas.
—A young man named Edward, waiter at Stier's eating stand in the Beef market, yesterday met with an unexpected accident. Below one of the tins is a large gas burner in a tight box, used for heating purposes. Through carelessness the gas had not been entirely turned off when the light was put out, consequently the box was filled with the fluid. In attempting to ignite the flame the superfluous gas exploded, burning the young man badly. He was taken to his home, No. 38 Maine street, suffering intense pain.
