TICKET OFFICE ROBBED.—Last Wednesday night, between 7 and 8 o'clock, when Mr. T. J. Shepherd, ticket agent C. & O. Railway, was absent from his office, a burglar entered by forcing first the northern outside door which opens to the gentlemen's waiting-room, and then forced the door which leads into the ticket room. Immediately under the ticket window is a shelf counter, attached to it are two drawers, one for specie and the other for notes. The counter was wrenched from its place, and was found on Greenville Avenue near Mr. J. M. Lickliter's shop. The drawer which contained the notes was pulled open and all in it, about $125.00, was taken. The drawer containing the specie—about $50.00—had a combination lock and was not opened. The specie, therefore, was not lost. No clue to the perpetrator has been discovered.
