HOUSTON, Mar. 19 (ANP)- Kenneth Long, 24, a navy veteran of more 30 months service, nine of which were spent overseas on Guam, was shot to death by a highway patrolman near here reportedly following an argument which ensued when a companion refused to obey a white man's orders to "put his shirttail in." His brother Marion Long, 22, and Causley Clay, 26, were jailed on aggravated assault charges, and will be held to the May grand jury.

The slaying occurred at Southport service station at El Campo, where Causley and Marion Long had stopped for a cold drink. The white man's command was directed at Causley, and Kenneth Long joined them later. Officers approached on the case were reluctant to give out information.
