THE C. C. G.'S WILL NOT ENTER.

A telegram was received last Saturday from Major A. W. Wills, of Nashville, chairman of the military committee of the exposition, inviting the C. C. G.'s to attend the grand opening of the exposition on last Wednesday, and take part in the procession. In the absence of Capt. E. M. Howard from the city, Lieut. Campbell answered that it would be impossible for the company to attend the opening or competitive drill either. We regret that the C. C. G.'s will not be able to attend the competitive drills in May at Nashville, or those on the 24th of June at Louisville. Their ranks have been so thinned from young men of the company leaving Clarksville that it would be impossible to muster the requisite twenty-four men and officers.
