Eldon, June 18.—Chas. Woods and family moved here yesterday from Muscatine and are occupying C. W. Phelp's property on East Walnut street.
Mrs. Briar of Brighton is visiting at the home of Mrs. G. W. Whisler.
Roy Minor and Milton Cox left last night for Trenton, where they visit friends.
The Christian Endeavor society of the Congregational church held a very successful social from 5 to 8:30 o'clock last evening on the church lawn.
D. J. Norton returned this week from his trip to Nashville.
Mrs. F. H. Doman left last night for Muscatine, where she will make her future home.
Frank Coolige left today for Leando, where he visits Miss Myrtle Sullivan.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Smith of Ottumwa and brother of Ohio spent the day yesterday with Eldon friends.
Miss Julia Hilles spent today with Ottumwa friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Martin and son Claire left today for Kansas City, where they expect to reside for awhile. Their many friends regret to see them leave but wish them every success.
Eldon, June 17.—Miss Ella Davis returned the last of the week from Nauta, Idaho, where she has been teaching, to spend her vacation with her parents just west of town.
Miss McKeeler of Cincinnati, Ohio, is visiting with Miss Sallie Davis.
Mrs. Ina Sampson's little daughter, Ina, is spending the week with her grandparents in Drakeville.
Harry Shultz of Stewart is visiting at the home of his brother, Carl Shultz, of this place.
Ernest Shunterman spent Sunday with Ottumwa friends.
Mrs. F. G. Isbell spent yesterday in Ottumwa.
Mrs. Frank Dormer came in last night from Excelsior Springs, Mo., to visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hellyers.
Miss Blanche Lutz from Batavia is visiting with her sister, Jane Lutz.
Mr. and Mrs. Bays from Valley Junction are visiting at the home of Mrs. J. T. Hull.
Mrs. John W. Lake and little son Herbert passed through here yesterday on their way to Atchison, Kansas, where they will make their future home for awhile, Mr. Lake having a passenger run out of Atchison.
Lloyd Hartwick of Moulton is visiting at this place this week.
Frank Shane made a business trip to Keosauqua today.
Edd Trott left for Jefferson today.
