Woman Is Booked
On Murder Charge
A 23-year-old woman was slain Saturday night at the intersection of Fort Street, and Edgewood Ave., N. E. when a pistol bullet struck her over the left eye.
Dets. H. E. Burdett and J. W. Ellington said a woman, identified as Mrs. Lois Ottis, 28, of 16 Fort St. N. E., Apt. 6 surrendered to police a few hours later and admitted firing the fatal shot.
The dead woman was listed as Miss Hattie Webb, 23 of 503 Gartrell Street, S. E. Police listed the motive as jealousy. They quoted Mrs. Ottis as saying the shooting grew out of an argument over her husband.
