Mrs. Folge Beuke Meets Death in An Automobile Accident.
In returning home from Clara City in their automobile, Mr. and Mrs. Folge Beuke and baby and Miss Stella Rcents were run into by another car near Wm. Anderson's place on the Montevideo road. Their automobile tipped over and Mrs. Beuke was so seriously hurt that she died the next day.
The accident happened Saturday afternoon about half past four o'clock. Mr. Beuke was going at a good speed when a big touring car came from behind and in passing struck Mr. Beuke's car with the above result. The driver of the other car never stopped but put on all speed and was apparently headed for Montevideo. Who the occupants were has not been discovered at this writing although Mr. Leopold, Mr. Byram and Frank Condon were in Montevideo two hours afterwards but could get no clue. The sheriff is now working on the case and perhaps may find the car if it is not already been found. All the clue they have is that the car had a gasoline tank on the rear end.
Mr. Beuke and the strange car passed Mr. Schroeder and Mr. Schroeder came upon the scene of the accident a few minutes later. He took the Beuke party back to Clara City. Mrs. Beuke was so severely hurt that she never regained consciousness and passed away Sunday afternoon at four o'clock. Mr. Beuke was badly hurt about the head and lower limbs but no bones were broken. The baby escaped with a slight scratch. The axle of their Ford car was twisted, the steering wheel and windshield smashed.
The county attorney and coroner were here Monday to make an investigation of the affair and the jury they impaneled returned a verdict that Mrs. Beuke had met her death from the result of a collision by unknown parties.—Clara City Herald.
