Collars, Cuffs Conspicuous On Chic Costumes

Little White Affairs Are Popular in Pique, Georgette and Linen.

The return of the little white collar and cuffs is certainly conspicuous in many of the chic collections this summer.

In pique, georgette or organdie, it is used almost universally on sports and morning frocks, sometimes in a cream or ecru but for the most part in pure white. No one can deny that a vestee, collar or jabot of fine lingerie or lace makes a charming frock all the more distinctive, dainty and feminine. And this is what everyone wants these days.

One designer puts a white pique collar on both the one-piece frock and coat of a very smart ensemble of green lace-weave woolen, and another is sewing collars and cuffs of very fine white beads, with narrow lines of red on a frock of blue georgette.

In lace, embroidered mull or silk pique, white collars are seen on dressy afternoon gowns and several of the houses are using deep cuffs and narrow round collars edged with old-fashioned rickrack braid.

Deep flaring cuffs like those of the old cavaliers come in heavy white silk pique, scalloped at the edge and with a flat round collar to match.

Another charming touch of white is seen in the encrusted bow-knot on both silk and wool frocks. It is sometimes sewed perfectly flat to the garment and sometimes out a bit in relief.
