NOT THAT ALLEN.
Impression That William Allen was Known here is Unfounded

There has been an impression abroad in Morgantown that William Allen who is under sentence of death for killing Hiram McMillan was formerly a resident of this place and a son of Jim Allen formerly a well known colored resident of this place.

Inquiry has revealed the fact that this impression is an erroneous one. Jim Allen for years was connected with the Wallace House and will be remembered by many of our older people. He was an unoffensive well meaning fellow and was universally respected. This William Allen seems to be another cut of coon and is a bad man. His execution will be only a partial delivery of what is coming to him.
