Bristol, Feb. 21.—The superintendent of the New Departure Bell company stated to-night that the strike of the platers in the company's factory had been settled in a satisfactory manner. The men returned to work to-day as usual, having been out less than a day. There was no question of remuneration in the strike. The men simply left to express their dissatisfaction of the improper ventilation of the plating room. Promises were made by the company that the matter would be attended to. The superintendent said to-night that the room for plating was in a newly-built part of the factory. The water used in plating and the natural dampness made it disagreeable.
