Club Gets Autumn
Programs Started
The Buttons To Beaux C.C.L. of West Jefferson held their first meeting of the new fall season at the home of Mrs. Martha Cavinee, with Mrs. Mary Schalip serving as co-hostess.
During the business session the members voted to donate the proceeds of the novelty stand at the Ox Roast as part of a fifty dollar contribution to the Business Men's Association. The group also voted to send a fifty dollar check to the West Jefferson emergency squad.
The Ways and Means Committee agreed to meet on September 24 to make the final selection of recipes for the cook book and to decide on the forthcoming project for the club year. A letter of resignation was read from Mrs. Luree Lewis who has moved to another town.
The meeting was then turned over to the program chairman, Mrs. Schalip. who conducted a discussion on the "Mental and Moral Development of Children."
Refreshments were served to the twelve members and also to a guest, Mrs. Hattie LaMare.
The next meeting will be held on Tuesday evening. October 8 at 7:30 p. m. in the home of Mrs. Wilma Kolodzik on Middle Drive with co-hostess Mrs. Jean Cramer helping to serve. The speaker for this meeting will be Judge Robert M. Draper whose topic will be "Wills and Legal Documents."
A request is still being made for recipes to go into the cook book which has been a project of the buttons to Beaux Club. Mrs. Richard Ewing of 365 Middle Drive, chairman of the cook book, requests that recipes for casseroles or main dishes be sent.
