WASHINGTON (ANP)- Dr. Alexander Galloway, dean of a Kampala, Uganda, medical school, has dreamed up a pretty original plan to secure books for the school's medical library -- offering giraffe liver tissues and monkey brains for books. That he is making the idea work is evidenced by the fact that last week he added Dr. Warren Ades, professor of anatomy at George Washington university medical school, to the list of persons who will send him medical journals and books in return for specimens of African animals anatomy. Dr. Galloway supervises the education of 30 East Africans at Makerere College of Medicine. One of the main problems is how to build a medical library and secure current periodical literature on a budget of 300 pounds a year. He came to this country to do some research in medical education at the University of Chicago during the first term. Among the list of swappers he has on his list are a Johns Hopkins professor, who wants monkeys for a research in primary anatomy, and Dr. W. Montague Cobb of the Howard university staff.
