Lawrence Gronlund Forms a Society Which Will Work to That End.

Oakland, Cal., March 4.—On the hills near Joaquin Miller's home Lawrence Gronlund, the socialist, has preached to a congregation of friends, who, at the conclusion of the address, pledged themselves to work for the good of humanity.

They formed themselves into an organization similar to the famous Fabian Society of London. The society declares its purpose to be the study of socialism and the spread of its doctrines.
