Matts Mattson of Gooding, Idaho, and Axel Mattson of Butte, Here
Monday afternoon: Matts Mattson, a resident of the village of Kandiyohi in the early days, accompanied by his son who is a practicing attorney at Denver, Col., and Axel Mattson, a brother of Matts who resides in Butte, Mont., visited for a brief time with Willmar friends en route to the Knights Templar Conclave being held in Minneapolis this week. They are making the trip by automobile.
Matts Mattson left Kandiyohi some 35 or 40 years ago, going to the state of Idaho, where he has been a very successful business man. For many years he was in partnership with the late United States Senator Gooding, at Gooding, Idaho, in the mercantile business. Mr. Mattson was born and raised in Kandiyohi village.
Conditions in his state are none too good, he stated, partial crop failures the past three years being traceable to lack of water, which has been overcome by tapping the Snake river.
