Miss Hattie Gault Wants the Postoffice at Media, Pa.

PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 24.-Miss Hattie Gault, a former tutor of Mrs. McKinley, wife of the president-elect, is named as a candidate for the Media postoffice. Miss Gault was a teacher in Brookchall female seminary at Media when Mrs. McKinley was a pupil there twenty-five years ago. Miss Gault, who put her savings of years at the school in a manufacturing company, has recently lost nearly all she possessed by the failure of the concern. There are four politicians after the postoffice beside Miss Gault, and it will be a question whether politics or sympathy shall win in making the appointment. It pays $2,400 a year.
