Community Fair Opens Here Today

A Community Fair, the first major activity of the week long Virgin Islands Carnivale will be held at the Old Market starting this afternoon at 5 o'clock.

"Carnival Village on the waterfront, will be opened at 8 o'clock tonight.

There will be various activities on Tuesday & Wednesday evening, before one of the principal features, coronation of the Carnival Queen, Miss Priscilla Elkins, takes place in Emancipation Park on Thursday afternoon at 5 o'clock. Friday and Saturday are holidays, and there will be activities from morning until night.

For the past week, calypso singers have been whetting the people's appetite, & hundreds have been turning out nightly to hear these performers.
