We learn from the Mass. Ploughman, that a Convention of the people of Northboro', Southboro', Marlboro' and Framingham, was held at the Town Hall in Northboro', Saturday Jan. 25, to consult upon the feasibility of extending the Fitchburg and Worcester road from the junction in Sterling to some point on the Boston and Worcester R. Road, for the better accommodation of the people in the towns in that section.
The Convention was presided over by Cyrus Gale, Esq. and many interesting facts having reference to the proposed new road, were laid before the meeting. The highest grade between Framingham and Northboro', was stated to be a little more than thirty-nine feet to the mile, and from thence to Sterling, but fifty feet to the mile. There is already a charter granted for a road from Framingham to Northboro', called the Agricultural road, which will not expire until April next. The Ploughman says that a good spirit was manifest at the meeting, and from the interest manifested in the undertaking by the men of enterprise and capital who were present at the Convention, we are inclined to think that something will come of it.
