ception at the Park Hotel of that

preciation of Mr. Ommodt's faith-
ful and able service to the Dis-
trict. More than two hundred and
fifty guests were present.
Chas. Ommodt, who has been the

Eulogized by Speakers
All of the speakers stressed the
fact that Mr. Ommodt has ac-

...them in the future as he had in the past.
A. J. McGuire, general manager of the Land O' Lakes Creameries, Inc., attending the banquet, spoke at length on the splendid work that Mr. Ommodt had done for the Land O' Lakes Cream-eries and was very much pleas-ed that the Department of Agriculture, Dairy and Food had secured the services of as highly qualified a man as Mr. Ommodt. Mr. McGuire stated that at first he had been opposed to Mr. Ommodt's taking the position offered him by Mr. Trovatten, but when he learned that the work of that office was to be along edu-cational and constructive lines, as well as law enforcement, he changed his mind and endorsed the appointment.
Following Mr. McGuire's ad-dress, R. A. Trovatten, Commis-sioner of Agriculture, Dairy and Food, spoke on the duties and pos-sibilities of the work connected with the Department. He stated that, though Mr. Ommodt was not an applicant for the position, he was chosen as the man for it, due to the fact that he had the wel-fare of the people at heart, was an expert creamery operator and accountant, and a true coopera-tor, who would put the advance-ment of cooperative creameries foremost at all times. In his selec-tion of Mr. Ommodt, he felt that the progressive people of Minne-sota would approve.
NRA policies provide a palliative for our economic ills, but coopera-tion alone furnishes the remedy.
