Worldly Anger,

Bodie Free Press, November 5.

A. Lazard, Chairman of the Democratic County Committee, yesterday sent a telegram to the editor of the New York World asking for information regarding New York. The veteran editor was writing a red-hot editorial against John Kelly, and explaining why Hancock was defeated, when the messenger boy brought in the telegram. Before opening the envelope, thinking it was something good from Democratic strongholds, but a glance removed that thought. Growing red in the face, he yelled: "New York, hell! G—d— John Kelly and Bodie. Where in hell is that place?" And he upset the table, cursed the poor boy, and told an assistant editor to write a stinging article on "A Death Blow to American Liberty."

It is useless to add that our worthy chairman is still waiting for an answer, and swears that the Free Press returns are woefully off as regards New York and the country generally.
