"CANT COME IT."

The Democrat tries to shout over the result of the election in Howard, but its tones betray the secret of its feelings. No sensible man can interpret the result otherwise than Belshazzar did the mystic "writing on the wall." As to the assertion that the change has been produced wholly by emigration, it is just as true as the other assertions of that Editor—who went to Moniteau to prove an assertion, to which he had pledged himself, from the Journal of the New York Convention—and didn't do it—because he couldn't.

Gentlemen Locos, you have whipped us the first heat, but in November prepare yourselves to be distanced.
