Nil Admirari! Hor.

Mr. Snowden,

I am old, yet I have not ceased to wonder at the strange occurrences of this strange world. Incredulity will seem excusable, if we examine the various impositions afforded to our observation, and experience, almost every day of our lives; from which even Law, and perhaps (even more wonderful still) Physic, have not altogether escaped censure. I have experienced somewhat of both; and the following occurred to me, as my experience dictated, of one of them, on reading your extract from an Ohio paper, of a 'Lawyer's Advertisement.' viz.

R. DOUGLASS

Intends practising Law in Chillicothe--if he can get any thing to do. He intends to be honest likewise!

A lawyer honest! that seems wondrous new,
''Twou'd do a man's heart good, to find it true.
For by whatever I have seen, or heard,
Another wonder of the world's appear'd.
