London, December 1. This Day came on the Election of a President of St. Bartholomew's Hospital, in the Room of Sir Richard Brocas, Knt. deceas'd, when John Barber, Esq; Alderman of Castle-Baynard Ward, (who in glorious, signaliz'd himself in the Cause of Liberty, by his strenuous Opposition to the Excise Scheme, which in great Measure ow'd its Overthrow to his so seasonably calling a Common Council, who join'd with him in a Petition against it) was by the Governors unanimously elected their President.
