Another Miner Injured.—As how often do we have to write the above heading to a local item. About six o'clock last evening, John Carlisle, a miner employed in the Yellow Jacket north mine, was descending the shaft on the cage, when about half way down, the cage stuck fast for a moment or so, allowing several fathoms of slack cable to come down upon it. Suddenly the cage became loosened and fell, bringing up at the end of the cable with great violence. It was at once perceived at the surface, from the violent jerk, that something was wrong and the cage was immediately hoisted. Mr. Carlisle was found upon it insensible. He was taken to his cabin near Fort Homestead, and Dr. Webber sent for, who came and rendered all due surgical assistance. One or two small scalp wounds were found, but his insensibility was evidently produced by violent concussion of the brain; otherwise he was apparently but little injured. He remained insensible for some hours, but at last accounts was tolerably rational, the Dr. however thinks his chances for recovery are very limited. This accident seems to have been one of those unforeseen calamities where no one was to blame, but to which the toiling miner is constantly subject, even in the best regulated shafts or mines.
