ANNUAL EXCURSION
TO THE NORTHLAND
With government and city officials on hand to extend a warm welcome to the members of the annual Alaska excursion party of the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, the visitors, soon after arriving this morning on the SS Aleutian, were taken to Anchorage, where, following a luncheon in their honor by the Anchorage civic body, and motor trips about the city, they will return to Seward for the southbound voyage on the liner.
A number of other tourists also arrived, some making the round-trip on the big vessel, while others are enroute over the Circle tour.
Governor George A. Parks, Colonel Dawson Olmstead, head of the Washington-Alaska Signal Corps; Col. Otto F. Ohlson, general manager of the Alaska Railroad, Senators Robert Bragaw and A. J. Dimond, E. R. Tarwater of the Bank of Anchorage, Mayor D. C. Brownell, C. M. Brosius, acting-president of the Seward Chamber of Commerce, P. C. McMullen, councilman; H. S. Balderston, president of the Bank of Seward, and numerous other local prominent business men, accorded the visitors welcome. The Anchorage delegation accompanied them on today's special car.
The party is led by Charles Bayer, Los Angeles Chamber official.
