Extract of a Letter from Berlin, January 1.

"His Prussian Majesty has given Orders that a very particular Inquiry shall be made into the Cities, Towns, &c. in Polish Prussia, their Manufactures, Commerce, &c. and has appointed Commissaries to make those Inquiries, who are to open Registers in every City and large Town for all the Inhabitants to give in their Names, Avocations, and Trades, so that their Number may be ascertained. The Fortifications of all the Cities are likewise ordered to be strictly surveyed, and the Returns made with all possible Dispatch."
