J. W. Williams, Blandtown's child murderer, found guilty by a jury of the stabbing to death of Booker T. Hunter on September 13, was sentenced to serve from one to five years on the chaingang, in Judge G. H. Howard's division of Fulton superior court Thursday.

Williams, who is only fifteen years of age, in his unsworn statement, admitted stabbing Hunter but said that it was done in self-defense. Hunter, he said had drawn a pistol on him and was persecuting him.

Two county policemen, testifying for the defense, told the jury that Hunter's general reputation was "bad".

Hunter was stabbed with an ice pick through the left chest and through the skull, the blade of the weapon breaking off in the dead man's frontal bone of the skull.

Williams was represented by Attorney Jesse L. Moore.
