New Castle, Dec 1.- At two o'clock this day, a boat put off from the sloop of war Hornet, Capt. Claxton, to receive Mr. Sergeant and Mr. Rochester, with their suite, bound to Vera Cruz, who have been here for the last two days.

These gentlemen having embarked on board the Hornet, a salute of seventeen guns was fired, which was answered with heavy cheers from the crowd on the wharf, when she immediately weighed anchor and proceeded in fine style down the river, passing Fort Delaware about 3 o'clock. A more beautiful day could not have been desired by these gentlemen than this, in which they have taken leave of the country whose interests they represent in this important mission.
