Another public meeting was held in Leon county on the 5th July, and resolutions unanimously passed, recommending the extra session, which has since been called for the purpose of asserting our rights in Santa Fe, by force of arms if necessary. Many similar meetings have been held, and the same sentiments expressed, without a single exception, throughout the whole extent of our State.
A meeting held in Tyler county has passed resolutions opposing the sale of our Santa Fe territory on any terms, but in favor of the sale of all north of the Missouri Compromise line for its intrinsic value for the purpose of settling the wandering tribes of Indians, but for no other purpose. This meeting also adopted the Austin resolutions in full.—Galveston News.
