Full Text

For the Morning Star.
Temperance IS Hated.—The temperance reform is not complete yet in the church. There are some members that will not hear a temperance lecture. Some will not go to meeting on the Sabbath if the minister is in the habit of faithfully exposing and reproving the curse of rum and cider drinking. Others, if they are at meeting and Bible temperance is urged, appear unpleasant. The spirit of anger, vengeance, or of the cup looks right out at their eyes. My brethren, we have too much unholiness among us to prosper. Let us labor and pray the God of the armies of Israel to remove it by his power and glorious appearance among us.
