We copy from the Globe of Saturday, the following extract of a letter from Mr. May, one of the representatives elect from Illinois:

Extract of a letter from William L. May, dated Springfield, Illinois, August 24th, 1834.

"Allow me, sir, as a friend of the Administration, to congratulate you on the result of the recent election in this State, for members to the 24th Congress. Reynolds has been elected in the 1st district, Casey re-elected in the second, and for want of a better, I have been selected as the successor of Duncan.

Upon all the prominent measures of the Administration, I have no doubt the Representatives from this State will be united."
