LONDON.

From LLOYD'S EVENING POST.

As the demolition of the fortifications of Dunkirk will not ('tis feared) be insisted on, as a preliminary article to a peace with France, notwithstanding the reason a noble writer hath urged in behalf of such a requisition; permit me to inform the public, thro' the channel of your useful paper, that our enemies were so fully convinced of the importance of that place, as to cause a medal to be struck at Paris, when the English ceded that fortress to the French in 1763? with the following pompous inscription around it, [garbled omitted], English, "The ornament and security of the French coasts." I wish this hint may have its proper effect.
